WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT AT THE DIFFERENT SERVICES?

Our 4pm Kids service on Christmas Eve, is ideal for kids from preschool to primary school. We will sing carols together, do lots of dancing, and hear the Christmas story with the help of some friends.

Our 7pm and 9pm services on Christmas Eve are contemporary in style, led by our live worship band.

Our 8am Christmas Eve and 7:30am Christmas Day is a traditional Prayer Book service, with lovely traditional music. On Christmas Day, our choir will lead us.

Our 9:30am service on Christmas Day is a family service, with kids joining us in church as we all celebrate together.

When you visit a church for the first time it can be intimidating – we hope that this is not your experience of St Paul’s and that you feel welcome and at home as you join us at one of our services. On arriving at St Paul’s, after finding a parking spot with the help of our friendly parking team, you will walk up to our main entrance and be greeted by our welcoming team (they will be wearing a lanyard so you know who they are). They will say hi, and help you to find a seat inside our auditorium.  If you have any questions at all, about the service or facilities (like “where is the bathroom?!”) our team will be more than happy to show you around. Don’t be shy to ask if you are not sure about something!

Our service will go for just over 1 hr. Our Service Leader (a bit like an MC!) will welcome you, and let you know what to expect at each part of the service. Our worship band will lead us in singing together, mostly well-known Christmas carols (the words will be projected on the screen for you). We will then have a time of prayer. One of our members will read the Bible passage, this Christmas our reading is from the Gospel of John. A minister from St Paul’s will then share a Christmas message from the passage that has been read out. We’ll sing some more carols together to close out the service.

After the service our Pastoral team would love to chat to you if you have any questions or if you simply want to find out more. Head up the back to our Welcome Desk and you will find our team wearing blue lanyards.

WHAT IS HAPPENING AT THE FAMILY FUN FAIR?

Straight after the 4pm service on Christmas Eve we will head out to our Family Fair.

We will have a sausage sizzle for dinner and drinks available, gold coin donations appreciated.

We will have free sno-cones, fairy floss, petting zoo, face painting and jumping castle.

There will also be a family photobooth where our photographers will take your photo, as well as photo opportunities on our lawn where kids can pose and you can snap their pic.

HOW DO I GET THERE AND WHERE DO I PARK?

St Paul’s is located at 421 Old Northern Rd in Castle Hill, in-between Oakhill College and the Anglicare Retirement Village. We have plenty of parking available including wheelchair friendly spots. When you drive in the driveway our friendly parking team will greet you and assist you to find a spot.

If you are traveling by public transport please visit https://transportnsw.info/ to look up the bus/metro timetables from your area.

WHERE DO I TAKE MY CHILDREN?

For all of our Christmas services at St Paul’s, the kids are in the church building with us, there is no separate program running. For our 4pm Christmas Eve service, there will be lots of singing and dancing and interacting with our puppets, so we encourage kids who are comfortable to come and join us down the front on the floor, we will have some of our friendly kids team there. For our 9:30am Christmas Day service, kids and adults will all sit together.

We also have Toddler’s and Feeding rooms with toys/books and change facilities, as well as a small playground for young children. Both of these rooms have TV screens and speakers so you can still enjoy participating in the service with us.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

We would suggest getting here at least 20 minutes early for our Christmas services as it can be a busy time! Getting in early means you can easily find a comfortable spot and be ready for the service to start.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Something you already own and that you feel comfortable in! There is no formal dress code at St Paul’s, no need to feel like you have to dress up – but you of course can put on your Sunday best if that is what you are happiest in! Most of our congregation wear smart casual attire, think what you would wear to a weekend BBQ with friends.

ARE THE SERVICES BEING LIVE STREAMED?

No – our services will not be live-streamed, however a recording of the 4pm and 7pm services will be available on our YouTube channel for you to watch back later >> HERE

WHAT DO WE BELIEVE?

We believe in God the Father, creator of heaven and earth; Jesus Christ the Son of God; and the Holy Spirit. Gen1:1; Matt 28:19

We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried and, in body, rose again on the third day. 1 Cor 15:1-4

We believe that God loved the world so much that he sent his son Jesus to die on the cross to save us from our sins so that if we believe in him we may have eternal life with him. John 3:16

We believe the only way to have an eternal relationship with God is through Jesus. Jesus said “I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

We believe that the Bible (the Old and New Testament) is the ultimate rule and standard of faith given by the inspiration of God and containing all things necessary for salvation.
