Making good marriages even better!

“A man shall leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. THIS IS A PROFOUND  MYSTERY” Ephesians 5:31-32

“While marriage is many things, it is anything but sentimental. Marriage is glorious but hard. It’s a burning joy and strength, and yet it is also blood, sweat and tears, humbling defeats and exhausting victories. “
Tim Keller

There is no cost for the course, just bring open hearts and a willingness to learn.

The course will be from 9:30am to 3:30pm, facilitated by Sam and Sanaa Labib.

We will be meeting in the church office, which is located at 419 Old Northern Rd Castle Hill. Attendees should drive into the main church driveway, then head all the way around the back and park in the staff gravel parking area. You will see a white foot-path which leads straight up to the office.

Let’s get deeper into the mystery of marriage!
This course is only open to the couples who did the marriage enrichment workshop with Sam and Sanaa in the last 5-6 years. It certainly builds on previous content, and then will go deeper.

WE WILL COVER:
Family of Origin
Our family of origin usually makes lasting impressions that ripple through our adult life and through our marriage.
If we ignore the ways in which our families of origin has shaped our lives, we can miss a crucial opportunity for personal growth.

Attachment styles
We will visit the Attachment Theory and will discuss the individual’s sense of security in significant relationships with others and most importantly within the marriage.

How marriage can grow people as a couple and as individuals and will discuss the concept of Differentiation.

OUR FACILITATORS:

Sam and Sanaa Labib have been married for 40 years. They have three beautiful (most of the time) adult children. They work together as General Practitioners. For 40 years they have studied together, worked together, travelled together and played together (and haven’t killed each other yet!).

In the past few years they have become passionate about enriching the marriages of others. Trained through Better Marriages Australia and now serving as committee members, they would love to share their journey with you.

WHAT HAVE PREVIOUS PARTICIPANTS SAID:

“We decided to attend Sam and Sanaa’s Marriage Enrichment Course as an engaged couple, a few months before officially tying the knot. As soon as we arrived, Sam and Sanaa greeted us warmly at the door and immediately made us welcome. Sam and Sanaa are lovely and work tirelessly to make you feel right at home throughout the day. Their vulnerability was amazing and it prompted healthy discussion amongst all the couples that attended. We felt more than comfortable sharing personally and we grew a lot from our time with Sam, Sanaa and the other couples. Sam and Sanaa bring a wealth of knowledge and experience and they humbly lead couples through the engaging content they have prepared. Something that we found particularly beneficial was the range of age groups and life stages of attending couples. The couples ranged from freshly engaged (like us) to married for 30+ years and this variety prompted plenty of fruitful discussions. I would strongly recommend Sam and Sanaa’s Marriage Enrichment Course to every couple, regardless of whether they’re newly engaged, just married, or have been married for as long as they can remember!”

– Ben and Steph Razey, 5pm service

“It’s a rare opportunity to sit in a room with other couples from a range of different generations all speaking very candidly about their personal experiences in marriage, and to also walk away with different tools to enrich our marriage. Very worthwhile”

-Matthew and Hayley Oxley, 10am service

“The marriage course provides a safe, caring, honest and non-judgemental environment to talk about marriage”

-Tom and Tanya Brodie, 10am service

“We went to the Marriage Enrichment Course while we were engaged – we loved meeting other couples and learning about their marriages – what worked and what could improve. Sam and Sanaa are so lovely and hospitable. They are generous with their stories. They share a lot of themselves and give us an insight on what marriage looks like, when it works well and when it doesn’t. I loved that it allowed us a chance to reflect on our relationship in a safe space and it gave us the tools to continue the discussions in the days and weeks afterwards. Don’t think about the course as a last resort fix. It’s a tune up. Invest a day and Sam and Sanaa will encourage you to get towards a thoughtful, real and authentic marriage.”

-Matt Bond and Kat Cooke, 6pm service
