Supporting Indigenous students as the Anglican Dean at Nungalinya College.

Ruth and her husband Lee moved to Darwin from Canberra in September 2020. As Anglican Dean at Nungalinya College, Ruth uses her experience in teaching and ordained ministry to support indigenous students as they come to the College to study. Students travel from across the Northern Territory, many not having left their community before, to engage in the College courses. Students can study a wide range of courses, some targeting literacy and numeracy, others with a practical ministry emphasis (media, art, community services) and others with a strong theological focus. All courses are underpinned by a strong biblical foundation. Students graduate having engaged deeply with God’s word, encouraged in their faith and better equipped to serve God in their church and community.
